• [i]From my review: [/i] While ‘Fox Confessor Brings The Flood’ is uniformly stunning, standout track “Hold On, Hold On” is just that much more insightful, and marries Parton’s every-woman with a Lee Hazlewood-esque exploration of bad parties gone worse, and their aftermath. Singing in the minor key with a desperately low guitar twang punctuating an unwritten Paul Simon track (say, “The Boxer, Part 2”), Case tells us "the most tender place in my heart is for strangers", and, fools that we are, we believe her, enough to be stung when she declares "it's the Devil I love".
