What people think about Sub-Culture:

  • this song makes me wish i lived in Manchester from 1977 - 1998. but then id like never mind how the hell could anyone live without the internet and how did anyone find out about anything?
  • Everything Bernard does gets better when you throw in female background singers, but the substance version gets too bombastic and strays a bit from its dark purpose.
  • I prefer the remix... the vocals on the album version are a pain in the ass ;) however, when it comes to the remix it has to be the 7" edit (as on Singles) because all the annoying "stuttering" is editet out :)
  • Wow... So much debate regarding Lowlife Vs Substance version. Me... I'm lowlife all the way :)
  • I just gave the Substance version a listen, and it's even better than Low-Life's. Don't know why I kept putting it off. Thanks, Mr_T, for the incentive. =)
  • The Low life version sounds like a bad demo! the Substance version is awsome
  • I like the minimal, super disco-pumping Low-Life version far more than the OTT single version. When I'm in a bad mood anyway.
  • Much prefer the Lowlife one, but the Substance version is a worthy and excellent reworking.
  • Both versions are great, though I love the melodramatic feel of the singles version.
  • I rather prefer the '87 version with choirs and stuff, nontheless its one of their best
