What people think about The edge of darkness:

  • Well damn. There's nothing left for me to say. mrHenryGale said it just fine. Excellent song!
  • One of my favorites from the Blaze albums. Awesome track! I'm not gonna say that the Blaze era is underrated, cos that's what everyone says, but I will say that people should listen to these albums with open minds. These albums aren't like powerslave or 7th son, they are different.
  • Awesome song from an awesome album. I don't care what anyone else says, I like Blaze-era Maiden.
  • This song made me watch Apocalipse Now :) Its really cool that so many maide tunes are based on movies or literature :)
  • Just like "Man on the Edge" - an awesome track about an awesome movie.
  • amazing song, really takes you to a dark place. One of the best IM songs ever
  • I quite enjoy X factor as a whole, every song is fantastic, easily my favourite album from Maiden.
  • Your right, there is no harm in diversity but look at it this way; 2 Maiden albums were made with Blaze, 2 albums with Di Anno. Which of these two periods produced the best quality of Maiden music? For me it’s an easy answer. While this song and “Lord of Flies” are great there not as cool as “Purgatory”, “Wrathchild” & “Phantom of the Opera”.
  • X-Factor and Virtual XI are underrated because, they're from the Blaze Bayley era. I personally think it was actually a very good period. This bit of diversity didn't do any harm in my eyes. It would really have been dull if all albums were made with one and the same front man and had almost identical sound. (take AC DC for instance - most of their songs sound alike, with a few exceptions)
  • Great song, and X-Factor is really, really underrated. They should play more songs of th e album live.
